Brussels Airport Company runs every ground and building activity at the airport; flight information, baggage handling, security, cargo, ground services with a permanent IT team. Head of ICT Operations Luc Logghe was looking for smarter, more flexible ways to run that infrastructure & started exploring what open source technology could add.

Our approach

Kangaroot worked alongside Brussels Airport Company's engineers on a focused project basis: analysing the existing environment, building a roadmap & implementing monitoring, automation and virtualization together; rather than staffing a long-term team. Consultants embedded with Brussels Airport Company for a defined period, advising, supporting and helping upskill the internal engineers along the way.

The result

Open source came to power several business-critical processes, including baggage handling and flight information, with the flexibility, scalability and adaptability to respond quickly to changing business needs.
